| Hughes, George Elwin, age 66, a resident of the Slapout Community, died Monday, March 8, 2010. A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 11, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL with Rev. Woods Culpepper officiating and Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Hughes, daughter, Carla Jo Hughes, two brothers, Steve and Neil Hughes. Mr. Hughes was the owner of Crown Insulation Co. and a member of Lake Hill Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday March 10, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Gassett Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Montgomery. |
