JOHNSTON, Clifford Harold, born April 28, 1929, a resident of Tallassee, AL; passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Wood and Rev. Ron Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Gassett Funeral Home of Wetumpka directing. Mr. Johnston is preceded in death by his parents, L.M. & Merle Johnston, his brothers, Shirley & John D. Johnston, and his sisters, Evelyn Shaw and Sarah Wright. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Johnnie Ann Hall Johnston, married December 14, 1946, his children, Larry D. Johnston of Tallassee, AL; Sherry (Billy) Harry of Beavercreek, Ohio; grandchildren, J.J. (Jim) Henderson of Cedarville, Ohio, Brett (Robyn) Harry of Stuttgart, Germany, great-grandchildren, Abby, Hannah, Emma, Jack, Molly of Cedarville, Ohio, Claire and Kate of Stuttgart, Germany. He was a member of the National Maple Society. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gassett Funeral Home. Mr. Johnston will lie in state 30 minutes prior to service time at Rock Springs Baptist Church.
